Hello Everyone! My name is Chris Ponce and I am a Public Administration Major with a minor in Computer Science and Meteorology. I am a Senior at FIU and I've pretty much done everything that FIU has to offer in the sense of involvement. I am apart of a fraternity and was about of SGA for 3 years. I've been a two time Peer Advisor as well as a Resident Assistant for an additional 3 years. I am an avid sports fan and could go on for days of how much of a fan I am for our FIU Athletic Programs. FIU has given me a job, a girlfriend, friends that will last a lifetime, and experiences that I will never forget. I currently work as a full time Office Manager for the Associate Dean of Research within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. I am active in the community and honestly spend a great time helping others less fortunate than myself. On my spare time I am an avid Crossfitter and workout 5-7 days a week with my fellow teammates to hopefully compete in the coming months. (Picture Seen Below). If you want to see what Crossfit is all about, have heard about it but doesn't seem like it's for you, come out to our free Saturday Classes and check it out for yourself. As far as this course I do expect to learn a lot along with all the other courses in this major as I would like to work in the public sector once I graduate. I believe this class will certainly teach me things I thought I knew and will open my eyes to new topics and subject matters that will encourage me to purse my Doctorate in Public Administration or even possibly push me into an MBA program. Down the road, I see myself working as an administrator at FIU or even the National Weather Service, whatever comes first.
