My name is Crystal Amoako and I am a first year philosophy major at the University of Georgia. One of the biggest influences and activities in my life is my art. It is the longest activity I have explored and tried to improve in, challenging my individual skills and changing the way I look at the world around me. Every image, person, and part of nature is a piece of art in itself and can be aesthetically assessed and appreciated. Trying to recreate pieces or images really makes you have to look closer into them than you would ever think to. The intricacies of everyday objects jump out to you because you have to look with such intent to be able to color match or catch key details that could make the whole picture. My interest in art has also emphasized my hunger for knowledge of the world that we are surrounded with. I like to look at every interaction with the world as a hint into the progress of human nature, beauty and the natural world. These interactions have allowed for alluring landscapes and wildlife to be valued as well as the dark progressions of human nature like tyranny and racism. This double sided progression is something that interests me very much because it is seen in almost every aspect of life. This interest in thought and knowledge also has caused me to like arguing. It is fulfilling to be able to take points about major issues and try to convince other people to at least consider your viewpoint or get them to believe what you do. All of these interests have also worked their way into my literature, as my thought has been shaped.
