One of my earliest moments of fashion awareness was when I discovered that my mom, my brothers, and myself should not all wear matching clothing. My mom decided family fashion then and as a six year old, I had little say in the matter. Our fashion relationship has changed since then. Today, my mom asks me what she should wear to a party or special event and asks me to help her shop.

My current fashion biography is in its early stages. Although I am proud of my accomplishments, they are limited by time and experience. This summer I will intern with large fashion coloration in their Asian headquarters. I have been involved with the University's fashion magazine, UDress. As part of the advertising team I worked closely with local fashion retailers to bring their advertising dollars to our magazine. My aspirations will drive me to continued success in the industry. I am currently interning with a brand collaborator through social media. I primarily work with their Pinterest and blog to drive customers to their site and promote products. I would like to continue to learn more about the social media aspect of the fashion industry, including the impact that social media can play on fashion and it's potential to drive new trends. I look forward to exposure to additional areas of Fashion Merchandising. Social Media is just a small aspect of the opportunities available within the industry. I don't want to limit my exposure to those opportunities. I plan to take advantage of every opportunity to gain additional exposure and network to position me to succeed.
