I'm passionate about a lot of things–primarily Star Trek. Why Star Trek? Star Trek gives a hopeful optimistic view of the future.

Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek, wanted to introduce a future world where the acquisition of wealth was no longer the driving force in peoples' lives. Instead, it was a world that people worked toward the betterment of themselves and humanity. This was an admirable and imperative cultural message.

Star Trek’s most famous message is its celebration of cultural diversity. For instance, at the height of the Cold War, the cast featured a Russian navigator, Pavel Chekov. Hikaru Sulu was the Asian helmsman. Just decades after World War 2, when distrust of Japanese Americans still ran high among the general public. Nyota Uhura, an African-American woman, as a senior crew member had actual impact. Representation always mattered.

Star Trek's depiction of the future may not be wholly possible; regardless, it provides a shred of hope for humanity.

Captain Picard is my favorite Star Trek captain. Captain Picard's wisdom and moral ethics are also what makes the Star Trek franchise so appreciable.

Captain Picard negotiates with an iron resolve and an iron gaze.

"Have we become so... fearful, have we become so cowardly... that we must extinguish a man? Because he carries the blood of a current enemy?"

He also addresses issues such as prejudice, autonomy, torture, justice and courage, which are as relevant in 24th-century space as they are today on Earth.

Aside from being an obsessive Trekkie, I enjoy spending time alone.

Solitude has always been very important to me. In school, I have always been that inexpressive, quiet kid in the corner, who preferred to keep to herself. I didn't speak, unless I was spoken to.

Solitude makes me happy. To others, my absolute solitary lifestyle may seem rather depressing and unfortunate, but I'm wholeheartedly content with myself and the way I choose to lead my life.

Whenever I get the chance, I read. I like collecting books. I love reading them. My books are my children. By the time I'm 24, I hope to have my own large library.

That's just one of my many life dreams.

Another one which comes to mind is travelling to different countries and learning about other cultures and customs. I would take pictures of the different countries I visited and separately dedicate an album for each. Hopefully, these two dreams come true.
