Town Planner with experience in strategic planning in London and international planning policy. Currently Head of Branch, International Planning Policy at Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). I lead on a wide range of international planning matters engaging ith partners, other departments and agencies and with other countries to seek the best outcome in relation to England's planning priorities.
My previous roles were in strategic planning at a city/city-regional scale, as Head of Strategic Planning at the Government Office for London and on the London Plan team working for the Mayor of London at the Greater London Authority.
In late-2013 I was appointed Visiting Fellow at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and continue to work with the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape on a range of issues.
My own interests include cities, planning at strategic level, European planning issues and concepts, politics, photography & travel. I am a keen runner and regularly run half marathons, and the odd full marathon. Interested in academic aspects of planning including research, and policy development.
