I consider myself to be a free bird because I do not let anything tie me down or hold me back. I love embarking on new experiences. Out of all of my traveling, the most eye opening experience I've had thus far was my two week journey to Europe. I am fortunate enough to have visited many countries outside of The United States, but my trip to Greece and Italy has by far taught me the most about the world I live in. In Greece, I conversed with locals, attended museums, went sightseeing, and was enthralled by the beauty around me. In Italy, I visited numerous historical and artistic tourist attractions. Overall, my experience in Europe opened my eyes up to a completely new culture. If fortunate enough to do so, I encourage all to visit somewhere new and exciting. Leaving my comfort zone and embarking on an unfamiliar journey reminded me that the world is bigger than I often remember. As I go about my monotomous days, I often focus on the experiences that are immediately pertinent to my life: waking up on time, attending class, working on my english portfolio, etc. However, as I take the time to reflect on the journeys I have been blessed enough to embark on, I remember that there is more to the world than just myself and my miniscule problems. My travels and journeys, large and small, have shaped me to become the woman I am today.
