Capt. Chuck Turbanic
Destin
At the age of 13, Captain Chuck started fishing the emerald coast with his father, LJ, a native of Alabama. Chuck and his father would come to Destin every summer and fish with the charter fleet.
In 1992, after serving 4 years in the US Army, Capt Chuck moved to Hilton Head South Carolina, where he began working on charter for hire boats. At first just on the weekends, more for his enjoyment of fishing than anything. In 1994, his mother and father moved to Destin and it didn’t take Capt Chuck long to follow.
Once in Destin, within the matter of a few weeks, Capt Chuck found himself hanging around the Destin harbor more and more, meeting new people, talking about fishing. Feeling the urge to spend more time on the gulf, after a week or two Chuck signed on with a boat and started fishing full time.
