Using cultural trivia in the classroom to celebrate cultural contributions. Empower students from different cultures by acknowledging cultural contributions. Origins of popular foods such as hamburger, hotdogs, tacos…From where does the birthday spanking originate? What country can we credit for sir names? Why June weddings? Why do we use the measurement of an inch?
Use of children’s literature and on-screen presentations to explore cultural traditions and customs. How elderly are treated in different parts of the world. Transitioning from one culture to another. Seeking freedom. Group discussions and sharing. Much group discussion and sharing. Topics give rise to core curriculum requirements in History, Geography, Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts.
