LaTonya J. Miles began blogging (in 2009) shortly after recovering from sudden illness that resulted in Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss and the chronic pain disorder Fibromyalgia in the Fall of 2006.

In the beginning she started a blog to chronical her exploration of Entrepreneurship after quickly realizing that returning to the workforce would be nearly impossible. She also shared the struggles & conquest of her family's adjustment to deaf life...ready or not.

Over time LaTonya decided to switch paths a bit, and began to journal the natural hair journey of she and her daughters at CurlyHue.com. It was there that she was also able to combine her passions for deaf advocacy & natural hair care which includes the article My Open Letter to Natural Hair Vloggers, that has been featured on CurlyNikki.com.

Most recently LaTonya became a Beauty Ambassador for Karen's Body Beautifuland a Independent Stylist for Stella and Dot. She has also founded Red Stick Naturals, which became the first natural hair meet up group in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Mission of Red Stick Naturals is to support & facilitate the self-education of curly, kinky, healthy hair practices through fun, yet informative gatherings & community projects.
