The Work Me: Curtis A. Carver Jr., Ph.D. is currently the vice chancellor and chief information officer for the Board of Regents of University System of Georgia (USG). In this capacity, I oversee a statewide educational infrastructure and service organization of technologists and innovators.

With a unique mix of industry and academic experiences, I've led the transformation of IT services by partnering with USG business owners, institutions, and other state agencies to jointly solve problems. The introduction of private cloud services, entrepreneurial offerings, new data system, social media, unified communications, strategic partner engagement and a focused and aligned financial model has been well received in Georgia and around the nation. My life has been dedicated to the service of others. It has been a life that defies simple stereotype.

The Tidbit Me that Fails to Define: Born in Savannah, large and supportive family, first to attend college, graduated from West Point, graduate degrees from Texas A&M, married 31 years, three eclectic children, extensive and beloved group of mentees, retired Army Colonel with 27 years of service to nation, empowering leader, visionary technologist, inspirational speaker, published author, massively online gamer, improving golfer, soccer enthusiast, scuba diver, parachutist, story teller, West Point administrator, lived in Italy for five years, Korea for one year, and experiences around the world including Panama, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
