When my wife Lauren and I started dating we had limited means but adventurous dreams. We longed to experience life together, a life filled with weekends of museums, festivals, plays, theater, art exhibitions, and most of all miles and miles of back-country to explore. Over the years we have visited every museum and gallery within a few hundred miles of our home, camped, hiked the trails, and cant get enough. Upon these little adventures we have learned that “life” has to be more than a big house, a huge bank account, and continual consumption and waste. As we grow so has our passion for life experience, little weekend trips have developed into week long through hikes. With a few restored vintage cameras, which my grandfather once used for his photography business, and a few digital cameras, I find myself obsessed with capturing and sharing what we see. At the top of every mountain is nothing but more rock, we do not hike to reach the top, we climb and hike to be changed by the journey, the life experience, of getting there.
