I'm a mindreader.
That's right; I make my living by telling people things that THEY already KNOW.
The truth is, I never really know how to answer the question that is often put to me by strangers and people that I meet outside of my performances. It is almost impossible to chat with someone for very long without the question "So what do you DO?" surfacing somehow. "I'm an entertainer," I often say. Which, of course, begs a whole host of other questions. Once people find out that I'm a "mindreader," it is a rare person indeed that doesn't immediately laugh and pop off with one of two things; either "Oh yeah?...you don't want to read MY mind!" or the more common "Really? So what am I thinking?" I have a host of responses to these questions based on the types of people asking them such as "Too late, I already did...and you're right, I wish I hadn't!" or "I promise I won't tell your wife/husband about____", etc. All in good fun, of course. I never take myself, or them, very seriously.
Like many people, I actually "do" a LOT of things. Most people wear more than one proverbial "hat"; they are brothers, sisters, boyfriends, girlfriends, mothers, fathers, co-workers, singers, musicians, carpenters, butchers, bakers, and candlestick makers. It isn't just ONE of those things that defines who they are; it is ALL OF THOSE THINGS. So when I'm asked sometimes what I "do" I select the 5 main categories of what I believe defines me and lightly state "I'm a mentalist/actor/grandpa/cool dad & above-average husband." Why? Because that's pretty much who I am. All of it.
I love interacting with people. I love getting into their minds and having fun with them. I love listening to their stories. I love my wife of 24 years and my two daughters. One is married with a 12 month old son (she is also a former active duty U.S. Marine) and the other is a second-year college student. I love playing with my grandson. I love healthy, natural foods; strong, freshly ground coffee; a good one-mile swimming workout, and time in a steam bath. I love travelling, especially with my wife. I love walking my dogs...sometimes. I love fresh air, live music, a good football game, craft beer and excellent wine; and plenty of great conversation to go with it all.
So...tell me about YOU!
