I am consistently searching for the spark and the next big thing. In order to find a spark that ignites the next big thing I need to be a risk-taker, a creative, and a disciplined networker. The combination of these three traits allows me to take on new challenges, such as conceiving and launching my own landscape management company. I have learned that nothing is too hard if you set your mind to it. For me the challenge of taking on new ideas and turning them into something real is both exciting and motivating.
I guided my landscape management company with my leadership abilities and with accountability to those I served and those I employed. I started with strategic vision. I had a strong sense of my market and the goals and reason my services were substantially unique from other landscape companies in the marketplace. The green industry is one of the toughest consumer industries in Washington. I was able to stand out from the other thousand landscape companies in the area through innovation. I offered organic lawn care and even utilized electric powered equipment in day to day operations. I also utilized the internet, teaching myself lead generation and social media. I was successful because I had self-confidence, passion, and focus.
I challenge myself the right way, by setting my bar high. I always go for the next challenge, setting the bar higher each time after reaching each goal I set for myself. I believe that success is in the doing. It is the process of doing that brings value. Each day I do something that moves me closer to my goal, whether it is learning a new language or managing The Grounds Crew. Owning The Grounds Crew allowed me to indulge in my passion for sales, business, and technology. I am interested in the ability technology has in impacting society and revolutionizing the way business is operated.
