Possessing nearly 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer has led research projects and animal care services at a number of clinics and educational institutions. Since 2018, Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer has worked at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, as an attending veterinarian and as the director of animal care services.

In the latter role, Dr. Schondelmeyer is responsible for overseeing five vivariums, the College of Agriculture’s farm facilities, and several off-site facilities. He also ensures that all programs are compliant with relevant regulations and assists in designing and planning animal facilities.

Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer is also the co-author of numerous papers, including “Postural Movements of Rabbits in Variable Height Caging” which was published by the Massachusetts Society for Medical Research.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in small animal science from Delaware Valley University, alongside a doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Schondelmeyer also completed post-doctoral research at the Emory University School of Medicine and Yerkes National Primate Center.
