San Francisco resident Curt Sigfstead believes passionately in the importance and value of education. As a donor, volunteer, and school board member, Curt Sigfstead works to support and promote programs that guide today's young minds for tomorrow's future.

Since 2011, Mr. Sigfstead has served on the Board of Governors at Shawnigan Lake School, his alma mater. Located in Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia, the school nurtures a vigorous and well-developed learning environment for students in eighth grade through twelfth grade. Currently, Mr. Sigfstead is a member of the board's Finance Committee.

In addition to fulfilling his duties at Shawnigan Lake School, Curt Sigfstead gives his money and time to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. An alumnus of both schools, he helped to raise funds in preparation for his 20-year class reunion at Brown in 2009 and for his 15-year class reunion at the Richard Ivey School of Business in 2012.

For the past seven years, Curt Sigfstead has been volunteering at the Katherine Delmar Burke School in San Francisco, California. Founded over a century ago in 1908, the all-girls school teaches students in kindergarten through eighth grade, seeking to instill a passion for learning.

Outside the realm of education, Curt Sigfstead is involved in charitable work. He serves on the Board of Directors at the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks. This organization provides vital food assistance to 225,000 individuals each year. He has been a board member for the nonprofit since 2010.
