As an aspiring social entrepreneur, I see myself as an inspirational catalyst and countervailing force of empowerment. Fall 2017, I complete a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Writing at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. In addition to my coursework, I collaborate with faculty and administration to implement resources for student parents and adult learners and oversee external scholarship development for Rollins Evening programs. Championing for students in need is my passion. In 2015, I completed an Honors Associate in Arts at Seminole State College of Florida and celebrated my selection as a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar—an annual award for high-achieving community college changemakers. As a Tar, here are a few of the ways I continue to serve: Student Government Association Senator; Academic Honor Council Vice Chair; Seminole State College Alumni Association Outreach Chair; Jack Kent Cooke Foundation-Cooke Outreach Representative; Hope CommUnity Center admission and scholarship advising; adult learner integration; social justice and leadership training. As a Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholar Award candidate, I will explore both professional and graduate opportunities in the public administration, law, and nonprofit management sectors. Upon completion of my graduate studies, I am confident I will have what it takes to navigate infrastructure and implement initiatives for betterment from the grassroots level upward.
