I wasn't too meticulous about my new eating habit. I just switch from fried chicken to baked skinless chicken breast and added more whole grains. Included more salads with my meals and not the fattening salads with bacon bits and loads of cheese. If I wanted cheese I added just a pinch, as long as I could taste it I was fine, I didn't need a whole cup of cheese. I started eating red meat once or twice a week and now eat more salmon and other fish for dinner or lunch.
Exchange one fatty item in your diet for a nonfat item. For example instead of whole milk use skim milk; instead of regular mayonnaise use nonfat, instead of full fat cream cheese use nonfat.
