Alex Flynn

I am currently in my third year at the University of Victoria. I have gone back and forth between living in the Bay Area and Victoria, but have settled here for school. I moved out last year and am living with my best friend who is also studying business.

I have a strong interest in business and would like to go into the financial industry when I'm older and then be a restaurant franchisee.

This summer I interned at a local investment firm called Odlum Brown. It was a great experience to be on the inside of the industry and make connections with the portfolio managers there.

Being raised on the west coast, I love sailing and the ocean. I raced dinghies competitively since I was fourteen and competed in world-class events in Victoria and San Francisco bay.

I still sail occasionally, but have started to focus more on fishing and getting my pilot's license, both of which are my two biggest interests right now.

Each day I consciously take one step closer to reaching my goals. Whether it be training at the gym, studying for ground school, or reading the wall street journal, I find that through concentration and dedication I can do anything I put my mind to.
