D. Osias, MPA
I am a first generation Haitian-American born in the populous city of Brooklyn, New York. My parents moved us to Florida where I later earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management as a first-generation college student. After graduating college, I began to explore different parts of the world while embracing the many cultural differences and sharing my mixture of Haitian and American culture with new friends. During my studies in France, I visited Spain and North Africa and then moved to Southern California, where it never rains…seriously, it hardly ever rains!
An advocate for higher education, I began my graduate studies. I spoke at the Inaugural Mayor's Mask Ball in Los Angeles sharing the stage with celebrities like Tatyana Ali, Dawnn Lewis, and the mayor. I influenced attendees such as Judge Mathis, Micheal Jai White, Kiki Shepard, Kim Coles and Fonzworth Bentley to donate over $600,000 in support of higher education for underrepresented students. I've been featured in The Pasadena Journal, Long Beach Times and San Bernardino American News. Although an advocate for education, I also find time to dab into the entertainment world just a little bit. I have attended The Grammys, BET Awards, NAACP Image Awards, VMA's showing with Ellen DeGeneres and BET/UNCF Evening of Stars. Exciting huh? Well don't forget to add me on twitter for love and more excitementeness (how you like that word!) @missdosias.
