Team Coordinator, Habilitation Tech, and Volunteer in Efland, North Carolina

In this world people with disabilities are not always treated equal or with dignity. Some are never looked at beyond the handicap, and there are those of us who never try to see them for what they truly are... a person. Here I am, not the healer of the world but a person who is just trying to do her part. I have worked with people with disabilities for over thirty years. It can be said that I have found my passion. Some cannot see, some cannot hear and others cannot speak, but I see them as a whole person. It is my job to be their eyes, ears and voice of reason. I learned a long time ago that if you put the person before the disability the outcome can only be one of nurturing and positivity. that is always my goal because I am so passionate about what I do. I have many other underlying interest as well. I am a creative writer who often writes plays that are performed for large audiences. I love to bake and I have logged more than 1,000 hours of volunteer work mostly with NC 4-H.
