Once you see an approval on your loan, you may be wanting to lower your guard. Don't do anything to lower your credit score until the loan actually closes. Your credit score is probably going to get checked by the lender even after your initial loan approval. They have the power to take away the loan if they discover you opened a brand new credit card, or financed a new car.

Realize that you are going to have to provide the lender with several different documents. Get them together before you even apply. Also, make sure to provide every part of a document. This is going to make the whole process sail smoothly for all parties involved.
