Born in New York City and raised in Houston, TX; Dagney majored in Global Development Studies at The University of Virginia before graduating in 2012. Upon graduation, she moved to New York City to be an equity algorithmic salestrader on Wall Street. After two years on the trading floor, she left the business to pursue writing. After starting her own blog Getting Savvy, she became Viral Staff Writer and Web Editor of WeWomen.com. She now focuses on her studies as a Master's Candidate at The University of Texas' School of Journalism on its Professional Track, while continuing her commitment to freelance reporting.
