Siobhan Daiko

Treviso, Italy

Siobhan is the second generation of her family to have been born in Hong Kong, where she spent her childhood and early married life. She moved to the UK in 1981. After a career teaching languages in a Welsh comprehensive school, she now lives in the Veneto in Northern Italy with her husband and two cats. She spends her time keeping an eye on her aged mother, writing, researching her historical characters, teaching English conversation classes, penning short stories set in Italy and enjoying the "dolce vita".

Her father was in the Navy during WWII and stayed on in Hong Kong after his demob to work with the Chinese Maritime Customs, making charts and chasing smugglers up and down the South China Coast. Siobhan’s grandparents were interned by the Japanese in the Stanley Civilian Internment Camp. Their stories inspired her debut novel, "The Only One”.

Siobhan has had a short story published online: http://alfiedog.com/products-page/siobhhan-daiko/

“Mamma Mia” will shortly be available on Amazon Kindle.
