Dakota-Lily Morris

Hey there!

My name is Dakota-Lily Morris and I'm in my second year at Bond University, studying a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International Relations degree. I am loving everything about university life – the people, the culture and the opportunities.

I am a born and bred 'Gold Coaster' and attended All Saints Anglican School. I have always been active and as a youngster I threw myself into every activity under the sun, from ballet to touch football or swimming to cross-country running. A love for the outdoors was a given, considering the relaxed and vibrant lifestyle on the Coast. The balmy weather allowed me to pursue my passion for triathlon, and, nowadays, I spend much of my spare time swimming, cycling or running around the Coast with my triathlon squad, who are just like a second family.

However, my early days cemented a real love for different cultures and for adventures that stretched beyond the Gold Coast. I have explored much of Australia, by foot or 4WD, camping with the bare necessities - the best way to experience the diversity of our country! But I also love travelling overseas. I have just returned from the adventure of a lifetime, after having taken up the opportunity to do an exchange semester in London! I managed to tick 14 countries off my bucket list, whilst studying full time at Kingston University. But while Europe and the UK were both incredible, one of my favourite places in the world would have to be Tanzania, Africa. I volunteered in an orphanage and school for a month there and the entire expedition was quite pivotal in my decision to study Law and International Relations. I was profoundly affected by the plight of the children in Africa and an ambition of mine is to positively influence, not only their lives, but the lives of all of those less fortunate.

For me, Bond is definitely the perfect place to pursue all of my passions, whether it be because of the location, the local and international opportunities, the classes or lecturers, the culture or the incredible friends that I have already made along the journey!
