The Federal Government recently expanded the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) under the CARES Act. This funding aims to support business owners by offering payments for W-2 employees retained during 2020-2021. The amount received depends on the wages paid to employees but can range up to $26,000 per employee. The funds come in the form of tax credits or cash payments from the IRS/US Treasury (most businesses choose the cash payment). Many businesses, regardless of their industry or type, are eligible for this funding.
