Damaine Allison-Gorman

Hi, I'm Damaine. I'm 19, I'm from the West Midlands, and I'm going to be moving to London in September to read Philosophy & Economics at UCL.

My interests lie primarily in philosophy, politics and economics: I'd consider myself an individualist, libertarian, and supporter of the Conservative Party. I believe in the overriding virtues of freedom, and unrestricted liberty, which are conducive to the ultimate end: happiness.

I'd consider myself inspired to study philosophy by Christopher Hitchens. His blistering rhetorical style led me to think more carefully about how to deliver arguments, how to reason, and triggered a desire to pursue wisdom.
