Damen Turner

Damen Austin was born in Little Rock, Ar. April 7th, 1993. Even as a child he loved music. At an early age he was exposed to several different kinds of music, from Tori Amos, to Rage Against The Machine, to Louis Armstrong, to Primus and everything in between. Earliest memories consist of listening to Bob Dylan every night with his dad before bed.

At age 11, Damen got his first guitar and amplifier for christmas and he began teaching himself how to play. Now pushed into his favorite artists spot were all the legendary guitarists from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, etc. As his ability to play grew so did his search for different styles of music.

After starting a band and going through several line-up changes and leaving many local studios dissatisfied with the sounds they were getting he decided to pursue a career in the recording arts. So, putting his own music aside he enrolled into Mediatech Institute and began to study audio. As a student he worked/learned along industry pros such as Aaron Inkrott, Paul Cox, Randy Miller, Skip Burrows etc. He also has ran live sound at Fitzgeralds, House Of Blues, River Point Church etc. He soon realized that most of the so-called audio-engineers around town were just guys who had access to a mac and some microphones.

So, with his new found knowledge Damen has been helping artists get the sounds they want out of their recordings and has always felt the urge to continually push the boundaries of what he knows so as to not become comfortable with his level of skill but to contiue to grow.
