Damian Chapman
Damian Chapman is a graphic designer and educational mentor whose various roles between professional and academic practices enable the creative direction & development of ideas, knowledge transformation, managing creative teams, building the brand as a driver of innovation and a catalyst for leveraging cultural diversity.
Damian trained originally as a photographic B&W print technician and then later as a photographer in Germany returning to the UK in the early 1980s to set up a photographic & design studio in London’s Clerkenwell area. As a designer and commercial photographer he has produced numerous campaigns for advertising and design projects spanning 20 years – from fashion images in Harpers and Queen, to still-life drinks photography for famous brands including; Gordons, Glenfiddich and Litchfield, to working on rebrand campaigns for BP, Shell and Nissan.
Damian is a passionate director & manager whose many years working with groups of young creatives, designers & managers enables an innovative, problem solving and imaginative design solution approach to education.
He believes that creativity, energy and value driven design thinking are the key to new initiatives and creative campaigns that can change attitudes and connect a contemporary public through socially responsible and sustainable ideas.
Damian has been the head of UG and PG design and communication subjects in the London School of Film, Media & Design at University of West London since September 2013.
