Damien Schumann is a photographer/artist whose work is motivated by social issues and human justice. It’s focus lies not only in documentation, but also in the proactive and strategic use of exhibitions in advocacy, communications and social mobilization (ACSM) spheres. Considered a visual anthropological study, his work has assisted in changing policy, educating communities, destigmatising social and health issues, and is recognized for its ability to penetrate the undisclosed depths of the human condition both in creation and presentation. Although most of his work is self inspired, collaborating clients include: The World Health Organization, Desmond Tutu TB Center, UNAIDS, International Federation of the Red Cross, Medicins Sans Frontiers, Stop TB Partnership, Treatment Action Campaign, RESULTS, and Project Concern International amongst others.
