Damon Davis served as Director for the Health Data Initiative in the HHS IDEA Lab. He was responsible for leading the Department’s efforts to promote policies and technology solutions to improve access to valuable health and scientific data resources. Overseeing HealthData.gov, he helped expand the uses of HHS data to drive innovative solutions to problems across the healthcare continuum.
Prior to his post in the CTO’s office Mr. Davis served as Special Assistant in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) in the Office of Consumer eHealth (OCeH). There his focus was on increasing consumer access to secure electronic personal health information. He joined the Obama Administration at HHS in 2009.
Damon is also an adoptee in reunion with his biological mother (2009) and father (2017). His podcast, "Who Am I Really?", shares the stories of other adoptee journeys and their attempts to reunite with their biological family members. http://www.whoamireallypodcast.com
Mr. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Hampton University and a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola College of Maryland.
