Dan Jackson

I'm an aspiring film & television producer, studying TV & Film Production at the University of Portsmouth.

Known for my professionalism and dedication to a project, I see myself as a leader and like to think I inspire those around me to work harder and better.

Currently I am the Station Manager of UPSU TV here in Portsmouth, which I started back in 2010. I have brought the station from nothing to being something that is well recognised around the university, securing sponsorship, networking opportunities with professionals as well as raising our profile within NaSTA (The National Student Television Association).

As well as this voluntary work, I present a radio show on Pure FM and occasionally on Express FM.

I was shortlisted for "Best Entertainment Show" in the 2012 SRA Awards alongside my co-host Murray Grindon. From this, we have been approached by several broadcasters including Jack FM and Capital FM, with the potential for a show in the future.

Alongside all of this, my course has taught me production techniques, people management, logistical planning, scripting, storytelling and more. I have produced several documentaries and fictional programmes in my time here.

I look forward to plenty more opportunities in the future!
