Dan Newlin

In a nutshell, my passion has always been in public service. At the age of 18 I was working my first job as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for the City of New Chicago, Indiana. I was only on the job for 6 months, when I was in the back of an ambulance delivering a baby. I went on to become a police officer in New Chicago; and after battling frost bite for a few years, I accepted a position as Deputy Sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. During my time there I was assigned to the Patrol Division, Fugitive Division and Tourist Policing Division; I received numerous awards and honors, which I am very proud of today. While working full time for the Sheriff, I returned to college at night and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. I went on to attend Florida State Law School, where I obtained my Law Degree. Sheriff Kevin Beary was kind enough to keep me employed as a Deputy Sheriff while I attended law school, and to this day I am so thankful that he made this exception. Today, I am a practicing attorney in Orlando, Florida. Continuing to help people from all over Central Florida is a dream come true for me, I love my career. There is absolutely no better feeling then obtaining a great result for a client; but my real drive comes through the eyes of my Angel, and only daughter. My daughter is my hope, inspiration and joy. When I am not dressed in a suit and tie, I enjoy throwing on a baseball cap and jeans and heading to Ocala to do some morning horseback riding with my daughter. I also enjoy travelling to my home town of Chicago, to visit family and friends, and of course catch a Chicago Cubs game. Thanks for being my friend on Facebook I am excited to be in touch with so many people, and learn about your lives. Together let’s work to make Central Florida an even better place to live and raise our families.
