Dana Cope

Dana Cope earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Southern Methodist, and quickly became involved in the political realm. In 1988, Dana Cope started a political consulting firm in Washington, DC, which he ran until 1992.

From there, Dana Cope came to North Carolina to work as the Director of Governmental Affairs for the North Carolina Department of Labor. He held this position until 2000, when Dana Cope was promoted to Executive Director of the State Employees Association fo North Carolina (SEANC.)

Dana Cope continues to serve in this role today and not only helps to secure victories for state employees and retirees like recovering and repaying $130 million in escrowed retirement funds from the NC governor, but also secured the two largest consecutive pay increases (5.5% raise in 2006 and a 4% raise in 2007) in two decades.
