Dana Laren

Hi! My name is Dana Laren. I am a sophomore at Illinois State University where I am majoring in Special Education and getting an endorsement in reading. I am also a Golden Apple Scholar where I intern at DePaul University in the summer where I student teach in Chicago Public Schools.

I have two sisters; Kiersten who is 25 lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Rachel lives at home with my parents since she is only 15. My parents have been married for 21 years and are very supportive of me and my sisters. We are very close to all of my moms' brothers and sister and their families and we see each other at least once a week.

When I am done with college, I hope to teach in a special education class or a middle school reading class. I wish to one day travel to Africa and help build schools and also to visit Australia.
