Dana Elizabeth Van Woert

Dana Elizabeth Van Woert, a Graphic Designer working in the Des Moines, Iowa, area, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Iowa State University. Active in her school, Dana Van Woert competed in a variety of design competitions, including the 2008 NARAL Pro-Choice America T-shirt Design Contest, where she was chosen as a finalist for the T-shirt and collateral design divisions. An undergraduate from 2007 to 2011, Dana Elizabeth Van Woert also participated in the 2008 Iowa State College of Design’s annual juried art and design competition and the 2009 Flyover Country Design Exhibition. Dana Elizabeth Van Woert earned an Award of Excellence in Identity for logo work featured in a juried student exhibition presented by the Art Directors Association of Iowa. Dana Van Woert also demonstrated academic excellence by receiving the SVPA Architects Inc. Student of Design scholarship in 2007 and 2008 and graduating cum laude. While still in college, Dana Elizabeth Van Woert gained industry experience by participating in a graphic design internship with Meredith Corporation’s Traditional Home Magazine. She also committed her time and efforts to the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication’s alumni magazine, the Greenlee Glimpse. Collaborating with other creative professionals, Dana Van Woert learned about prepress production as well as web content traffic and redesign; she also assisted in studio photography shoots, interior design, and propping. In 2009, Dana Elizabeth Van Woert contributed to an urban field study by designing a compilation project that explored typographic solutions in New York City. Additionally, Dana Van Woert traveled to and lived in Italy, where she took part in a packaging workshop in Rome with a master of graphic design, Primo Angeli.
