Dana Finegold
The co-owner of JD Fine & Company and a noted fashion designer, Dana Finegold attended the University of California, Santa Barbara during her undergraduate years. She majored in business economics and accounting. Before graduating with her Bachelor of Arts, Dana Finegold met her husband-to-be, Jamie Finegold. In 1996, after the birth of their first child, the couple debuted Tart Collections, the fashion line that would come to define JD Fine & Company.
Inspired by famous designers ranging from Halston to Roberto Cavalli, Jamie and Dana Finegold set out to design sportswear that exuded the sexy, sleek cool of the laid-back West Coast lifestyle. The end result, Tart Collections, now includes tops, bottoms, dresses, leggings, wraps, and jackets, all exhibiting the relaxed glamour that the line has become known for. On the Tart Collections website, www.tartcollections.com, the couple highlights some of their favorite in-season garments. One of Ms. Finegold's favorites is the Melanie Top, a slinky shirt made for warm weather and available in amethyst, ceramic, and black.
Many of the world's most recognizable celebrities and fashionistas have worn pieces from the line. Actress and comedian Sofia Vergara was recently spotted out in New York City in a sapphire blue Rowan Dress. Still others sported the Infinity Dress, a Tart Collections staple that can be styled in an infinite number of ways.
Outside of JD Fine & Company, Dana Finegold participates in numerous charitable organizations and events. She donates time and resources to the National Charity League, an organization that promotes bonding between mothers and daughters.
