Dan Bena most recently led the Sustainable Development and Operations Outreach agenda for PepsiCo Global Operations, the world’s second largest food and beverage company, which serves consumers in more countries and territories than the United Nations has members. He serves/has served in various Board or other capacities for the Safe Water Network; World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD); Steering Board of the IFC 2030 Water Resources Group; United Nations CEO Mandate; World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Water Security; US Water Alliance; Creative Visions Foundation; the documentary, Water Pressures; the Environmental Leader publications group; and others.

He delivered the keynote address at the Royal Swedish Gala, and has spoken at over 100 diverse venues, including the Our Food, Our Future Summit, attended by the Prime Minister & Agriculture Minister of Ireland. Bena provided testimony to the US Senate, and opening remarks at the United Nations Youth Assembly to over 1,000 youth delegates from over 100 countries.

He was invited by the mayor of his city to serve on a new Sustainability Advisory Board to develop a forward-looking sustainability plan for the city. He recently published his first book, Sustain-Ability: How a Corporate Conscience Sustains a Company’s Ability to Win, specifically to help other companies along their sustainability journeys. He lives in New York, USA with his wife, Diane.
