Born in Solihull and raised in Lincoln, I got into sound early—mostly because I preferred hanging out with the crew to sitting in the audience. I started DJ’ing and doing gigs around Lincoln and got my first paid job at 13.

I’ve run a studio and trade as dB Studios, and sound engineering has taken me all over the world across live events, touring and theatre—mixing FOH, monitors and broadcast feeds, plus recording and production support. These days I split my time between live work and cruise ship sound design, building show systems that are solid, repeatable and easy for teams to run. That often means timecode, playback and integration with video, lighting and MIDI—done properly, documented, and stress-tested.

I also deliver training and consultancy for engineers and teams. It’s practical, hands-on, and based on real-world workflows: consoles, microphones, RF/IEMs, system tuning and show control. I spent a period living and working in the USA focused on training and mentoring, and I still support clients internationally.

I’m the founder of the Church Sound and Media Summit (thechurchsoundsummit.com), created to help churches improve their sound and production without the nonsense.
