Daniel Burity is an award-winning Brazilian filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY.
Daniel began his career working in public television at age 22, where he directed, wrote and edited cultural programming in his native city of Salvador, Bahia.
In 2007 he moved to New York City where he studied Directing at the School of Visual Arts and has worked as director, editor, producer and videographer.
His documentary "Apple Sounds", about independent musicians in New York, won the Press Award in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and was praised highly by directors such as Michel Gondry.
His works were exhibited in museums, galleries and theaters in cities like Tokyo, London, Sao Paulo and New York.
His new documentary, "Hola Kitty", about undocumented latino workers, will premiere in 2014.
Daniel is also know for his work in music videos.
