Scott J. Danes

Hello, my name is Scott Danes, and I am currently an undergraduate student here at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. I am pursuing a double major in economics and communication with the hopes of getting a business minor. Although these four years for my bachelors' degree are coming to an end quickly, I have the dreams of continuing my education for further studies in the field of business. I hope to one day receive a masters in business administration and enventually obtain a Ph.D. in Economics. Although school is my top priority right now, I can also be found at a number of different organizations around campus. I am a member of the international Greek fraternity, ACACIA. My love for the fraternity and Greek system allows me to branch out of my comfort zone and interact with people that I would of never been given the opportunity to if I chose otherwise. Some other minor organizations that I am a part of are my love for statistical analysis. I am a part time member of a statistics club. I love this registered student organization because it gives me an opportunity to use the skills I have learned through my economics courses and apply them to real world application that can help out the University.
I have some of the greatest experiences here at the University of Illinois. I am currently an Assistant General Manager at one of the hottest bar and clubs in the Midwest, The Red Lion.
My life is not strictly about the University of Illinois, even though I am not the only Danes that have attended. My father, mother, sister and brother are all current alumni of the university, and I hope to join them in the ranks. With my family, I enjoy outdoor activities, sports and fishing around the world with my Uncles.
