Dr. Dan Holtzclaw earned his DDS at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he distinguished himself academically, graduating cum laude. Dan Holtzclaw, DDS, was then commissioned as an Officer in the United States Navy where he provided dental care to members of the United States Navy’s Atlantic Fleet and completed a general practice postgraduate residency at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Virginia.
Dr. Holtzclaw later served the Navy as a general dentist in Hawaii where he was a staff dental officer at the Naval Dental Center at Pearl Harbor and Director of the branch dental clinic at a Naval Computer and Telecommunications Master Station Wahiawa.
Dr. Holtzclaw received post-graduate residency in periodontology at the US Navy Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland, an institution that produces dentists responsible for treating members of Congress as well as US military officials and NATO personnel. Concurrently with this residency, he earned an MS in Oral Biology from George Washington University.
Dr. Holtzclaw later served the Navy as the Periodontics Department Head at Naval Hospital Pensacola, Florida. There, he provided periodontal and dental implant treatment to US Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard personnel as well as serving as sole periodontist to the world famous US Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration team.
