Daniel Walter Hill's story began in the modest surroundings of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, a tale marked by tenacity, relentless drive, and a touch of serendipity. Born and bred in Canada, his journey led him to establish roots in St. Augustine, Florida, a decision influenced by a life-changing vehicular accident that expanded his horizons and ultimately guided him to settle in the United Kingdom.

His entrepreneurial ventures span various industries, including real estate, homebuilding, golf course development, the oil and gas sector, cable TV, plastics manufacturing, utility services, and waste management. He has been pivotal in advising, founding, and managing various companies in these diverse fields, showcasing his talents in solving complex problems, generating capital, and crafting strategic plans.

Among his varied business pursuits, he was a key founding member and investor in Allied Waste Industries. This central waste management entity later merged with and rebranded as Republic Services. His career began in real estate development, where he took charge of large-scale, mixed-use real estate projects in Texas, California, and Arizona, handling everything from acquisition and design to planning and financial management.

His educational background is as varied as his professional experiences. He started with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Georgetown University and a Law degree from the University of Saskatchewan, leading to his bar admission in British Columbia. His quest for knowledge led him to Harvard University's School of Business Administration, where he completed the esteemed Owner/President Management Program.
