Daniel Breilh
Bellevue, WA
My name is Daniel Breilh, born in Berkeley, CA and grew up outside of Seattle, WA where I attended Bellevue Christian High School. Playing in any sport I could, along with the mentorship of my family and friends, developed me into the competitive leader I am today. During high school, I was elected as student body president by my peers and the school's faculty as well as the captain of the varsity basketball team in my senior year. After graduating high school, I attended the University of Washington on a four-year Reserve Officer's Training Corps scholarship where I received my commission in the United States Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant. After my commission, I moved to Quantico, VA for a year of Marine Corps advanced leadership and tactical training. My first assignment in the Marine Corps was to 2d Battalion, 3d Marines in Kaneohe Bay, HI as a rifle platoon commander. I deployed with my platoon of 45 Marines to Marjah, Afghanistan where operated independently, earned the trust of the local population, and destroyed the Taliban's will to fight. At the end of the deployment, I was promoted to Company Executive Officer responsible for the planning, support, and execution of training and operations for the 180 Marines in my unit. After a rapid work up, my company was hand picked to deploy as the inaugural Marine Rotational Force - Darwin, Australia to act as ambassadors for the Marine Corps and establish the logistical and operational framework for follow on units. During the deployment, I was responsible for the accountability and maintenance of $15 million of equipment and the transportation to and training in five different countries. I am now transitioning out of the Marine Corps as a captain and am highly motivated to leverage four and a half years of leadership and management, experience in critical thinking, problem solving, and efficient use of personnel and resources with a proven ability to align and meet mission objectives utilizing SWOT analysis, end-to-end planning, collaborative leadership and exceptional execution.
