Daniel Mercer is a 48 year old husband of 21 years and father of four. Most would agree a fairly extraordinary accomplishment in today’s world. He has also been twice diagnosed with and treated for seminoma cancer. In a recent training call he stated the first go around gave him a sense of calmness. The second and most recent treatments resulted in a sense of clarity.
But it wasn’t always calmness & clarity!
It’s important to start with the roots of where Daniel started from and where his basic work ethics and compassion for all living creatures stems from. While many will never be afforded this opportunity as he calls it now, growing up on a Midwest farm has both served him well and at times created obstacles to overcome. Problem solving, getting the job done and pride of workmanship may be the three top attributes collected from those years growing on a farm.
Serving in the USMC from 1986 to 1990 has a way of solidifying hard work, teamwork, and is a great introduction to leadership skills.
In the mid-1990s a chance entry level position into a national auction firm start a long-term love affair with the auction method of marketing and the auction industry. When thinking of the years and experiences that came along with the life of an auctioneer, words like commitment, hard work, teamwork, sales, marketing, project management, relationship building, management, leadership, training, growth & development and so many more adjectives come to mind. Although Daniel does not still own his own auction company, he never hesitates to be involved an auction.
Late in 2001 a major move from Minnesota to Arizona was a great chance to enter into and train in another field. Daniel has been a licensed Arizona Realtor since that year has worked with both small companies and major brokers such as Coldwell Banker and his current broker Home Smart. Customer service, networking, and building a client referral system are all great areas of growth when working in the real estate field. It is also an industry that has a strong tendency to be cyclical. Thus, pointing out the importance of having multiple streams of income, especially passive income.
