Daniel Merritt

Daniel Merritt has been a lifelong resident of North Carolina. He grew-up in Lee County, Sanford, NC. He came to Christ at a crusade meeting as an eighteen year old freshman at Campbell University where he was attending. A Southern Baptist preacher since 1971, he earned a degree in religion and philosophy from Campbell University, a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Theology from Northwestern Theological Seminary. A dilgent student and lover of the Bible, in addition to his over forty years in the pastoral ministry, he is a SBC Seminary Extension instructor. Merritt, who ran track in high school and college, has coached high school distance runners for 40 years. The author of five books, his last two books are A Sure Foundation: Eight Truths Affirming the Bible's Divine Inspiration and Writings on the Ground: Eight Arguments for the Authenticity of John 7:5-8:11. Having written books on the history of North Carolina Baptists, his books have received recognition by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and the North Carolina Historical Society.
