Dr Daniel Parker
Research Assistant in Salford, United Kingdom
The focus of my PhD was the mechanics of the tissues on the sole of the foot in humans. Prior to my PhD I completed a taught MSc in Biomechanics at the University of Manchester, which provided a broad introduction to structures, systems and motion and gave me an excellent opportunity to try my hand at a range of experimental Biomechanics. My BSc was in Human Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Liverpool. Throughout my time at Liverpool I gained a wealth of knowledge on functional anatomy and biology which provided a solid grounding to my later research focused work.
My wider research interest include: Functional Anatomy, with a focus on the dynamics of terrestrial gait and a background in the study of human bipedal locomotion; Biomechanics of soft tissues; Biomimetics, with a particular focus on orthotic and footwear design.
