What’s up, I’m Daniela. I’m the Coordinator of the Restorative Justice Program at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. At that position Daniela is responsible for collecting and reporting data to support the violence-prevention grant. She also supervises JMLS students at Chavez Middle School and works with Chavez students, faculty, parents, police and community organizations to implement violence prevention programs.

Daniela loves art and poetry, and in her free time she loves painting and sketching.

She also loves cooking. These days she cooks mostly plant-based, organic meals and is always looking for the next great recipe. She also enjoys finding and trying out new restaurants.

Daniela also spends a lot of her time practicing mindfulness, meditation and yoga daily. She loves animals and being outdoors as much as she can, which includes a lot of travel and hiking. As if that isn’t enough, Daniela Velez also trains for marathons, loves to ski in the winter, and boxes and kickboxes regularly.
