Daniela Delano
Student in Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Hello, my name is Daniela and I am a fourth-year student at the University of Guelph. I am a hardworking, focused student who is working towards completing my undergraduate diploma in biological science and a minor in nutrition and nutraceutical science. I came to Guelph after I completed my high school education at St. Roch Catholic Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario. There I spent four years involved in the media arts and technology program, learning about photography, videography, design and media arts. Those four years sparked my interest in photography and design and have shown me ways to express my love for travel, fashion and of course food. One of my favourite hobbies is to read which led to my choice in biological science for my post-secondary studies. I have enjoyed learning and understanding more about the world around us and the people in it, which then leads to my reason for loving the field of medical biology the most. I have always found the workings of the body an interesting topic and the study of pathology and nutrition to be some of my favourites. I do not have just one person in the science world that has inspired me but instead I am inspired by all of those people who have created or worked on something that is influential and helpful for others. While I myself am not set on my career for the future, my goal is to also create and work towards something that is beneficial for mankind and our world and create my own business out of it. I want to be my own boss in the future and lead a team of people with the same goals as mine. One person who inspires me and helps me grow towards my goals is my twin sister. Not many people here at the university are aware that I am a twin because she attends McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. I would say that being born a twin is one of my most interesting facts about myself. We are fraternal twins and therefore when meeting individuals for the first time they find it very hard to believe that we are sisters, let alone twins. I hope this brief biography has helped you learn and understand me better as an individual.
