Daniela Don
Chicago, Illinois
Daniela Don currently attends the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She plans to major in Elementary Mathematics for 5th through 8th grade. She is a 2012 Golden Apple Scholar and will teach in a school of need: academically or financially. During her spare time, Daniela always makes time to give back to her elementary school in Little Village, Telpochcalli, where she hopes to be able to teach one day. At the University of Illinois, she is involved in her sorority, Gamma Phi Omega. She also works for America Reads/ America Counts as a tutor for the children at Gerber School. Daniela does not miss the opportnuity to help out students in any way that she can. Education is the most beautiful thing and she wants her students to know that. Children learn if they are willing to ask questions and be open minded. She hopes to inspire her future students and be the change for many generations to come. If you have any questions, feel free to send her a message.
