Born in Brazil, Daniel Alves Alger spent most of his early life in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. While growing up, he developed a strong interest in ice hockey. He played the sport actively throughout his school years, serving as a top-line forward for the Blair Ice Hockey team. In 2014, he was part of the team that won a divisional championship, marking one of his earliest achievements in a team environment.

Even while focused on sports, music was always a steady part of Daniel’s life. He began taking piano lessons at a young age, which introduced him to the fundamentals of music. Over time, he started playing bass guitar, and later expanded his focus to the six-string. During his teenage years, he became part of the DMV music scene, performing in bands and refining his skills as a guitarist and songwriter through experience.

In 2017, Daniel moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to attend Belmont University. He stayed at Belmont for two semesters, where he had the opportunity to connect with professional musicians and gain insight into the performance side of the industry. He started playing shows across Nashville, continued writing songs, and eventually co-founded The Druids, a band influenced by psychedelic and classic rock sounds.

As a founding member, Daniel Alger of Nashville plays multiple roles within The Druids. He serves as a guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist, contributing to the creative direction of the group. The band’s music blends indie rock with narrative songwriting and psychedelic textures. They have self-released two full-length albums, with Daniel handling much of the engineering and mixing using professional studio tools. Their music has gained support through direct-to-listener platforms like Bandcamp.
